A Prayer for School

Published by

on

Dear Lord,

Take the thunderstorm out of my brain when my lightning temper flares. Let my past stop ruling my head and teach me silent grace. Teach me to accept my students as humans with quirks, and humor,  not the hateful banshees I see them as. Lead me to peace and joy with them rather than lightning that wants to strike them from the tops of their heads to change their souls. Help me see their humanity, God. I know better than to pray for patience, I need no more tests. Pour your grace over me like thick honey that I may not speak harshly nor move quickly to judgement. Slow me down Lord, pull the thunder and lightning from my soul, put it in the past and replace it with silence before I get fired and really get in trouble one day.

Sincerely, Amen.

Amen. Teachers need to possess patience as always at school. This prayer is so thoughtful and sincere and I love it, devonne.
