Welcome to the Spruce Goose Forest. I enjoy my space here. It’s small and shadowed and the trees take up all the nutrients in the soil. I’m learning what will grow, and what will grow successfully. Impatiens and begonias are happy here.

I collect the deadfall from the trees around for mountain paths in my botanical gardens. So far, the morning glories have their first set of leaves.

A work in progress, I’m looking for something to spiff up the entrance to the garden path. Suggestions accepted with a grain of salt.

I wanted to fill the pathways with Chamomile so the scent would release when crushed with a step. Chamomile won’t grow back here, but mint will. I’ve got mint planted in the pathways. It’s growing and spreading. It’s scent will be released when crushed underfoot in a year or two.

A blossom left for me by the groundhog. The lily plant was covered in a blue million buds, ready to pop, when the trifling groundhog attacked. I hate groundhogs.

Groundhogs don’t like coneflowers. I do, and I’m getting more of them. The lily and the coneflower grow on the front of the house where the sun shines hot and there is no shade to be found.
